March for Unity Derry Postponed
The working group have taken the difficult decision to postpone March for Irish Unity Derry City Saturday 6th November. A unanimous decision was taken to postpone March for Irish Unity due to the COVID-19 winter surge.
The working group has been advised against bringing thousands of people from across Ireland and further afield into Derry City on the weekend of the 6th of November. It is our understanding that Altnagelvin Hospital in the City is currently under pressure to provide beds.
At all times public safety is at the forefront of our event planning. This can be seen through our safety and management plan shared with statutory agencies.
We wholeheartedly apologies for any inconvenience this decision has caused and are disappointed we will be unable to create an anti-sectarian, non-party political, grassroots led visual demand for Irish Unity on Saturday 6th of November Derry City.
The March for Irish Unity working group will continue to communicate and bring forward new dates for Spring 2022.
